USAGE INSTRUCTION:

Apply spruce resin ointment or oil several times a day in a thin layer over the treatment area and gently rub it into the skin.
If necessary, the applied area can be covered with an open air bandage or plaster (gauze).
Spruce resin ointment or oil can also be used as massage basis for massaging the treatment area (inflammations of muscles, joints and rheumatic ailments). Massage is made from the bottom upwards in circular movement (procedure can be repeated).

 
 
 
 

WHAT TO USE OINTMENT OR OIL?

The most popular form is spruce resin ointment, it contain also beeswax and vegetable vaseline (made from palm and coconut) with know beneficial effect on the skin besides vegetable oils. The need for spruce resin oil appeared for persons who uses bigger quantities of ointment or with persons using it to massage bigger parts of the body (whole back, etc). The products are almost identical in the amount of  spruce resin content.

 

Caution notes:

Pecking feeling might appear sometimes at the beginning of usage due to increased blood circulation.
If bandages for muscles and joint are used make sure it is not to tight.
Store away from the children.
Store at dry, possible dark places, at room temperature.
Do not use the ointment after the expiration date.

Side effects:

Some people might have allergic reaction (minor) to components of spruce resin. It appears as contact dermatitis (itching). If this happens stop using spruce ointment or oil and dermatitis will disappear immediately. Research from Fregert, et al. (1963) included 1247 patients, which were in contact with spruce salve. Only 5,5% patients showed allergic reaction appearing as minor contact dermatitis. Due to many advantages of spruce resin ointment or oil some people reported they used it despite occasional minor itching.
